THE BUSINESS – SÃO PAULO 16.10.2010

16.10.2010 - Essa data definitivamente entra para a história para todos os fans da boa música. Muitos inclusive eu por mais que tenha o otimismo como referencia no estilo de vida, particularmente não criava muitas expectativas para que bandas de importância e grandeza do The Business passassem por aqui. Após a primeira passagem do Cockney Rejects se deu inicio a um processo de apreensão em relação qual seria a próxima banda. Existe um dito popular que diz “Sou brasileiro e não desisto nunca” mesmo que essa insistência demore mais de décadas! E para quem não acreditava dia 14/10 encabeçada por Micky Fitz a banda THE BUSINESS desembarca no Brasil, inclusive de acordo com um dos organizadores do evento, André, teriam chegado antes da data marcada. O que era sonho agora ganha contornos de ansiedade, mais uma vez, “mais de décadas” agora somente faltando dois dias para que os ícones britânicos façam barulho por aqui!

O SHOW - Acredito que poderia ser ainda melhor em relação à quantidade de gente, apesar de ter sido muito bom. Podíamos ver andando pela casa um público diversificado, então várias gerações de carecas, psycho, hc´s, punks e simpatizantes entre outros se acomodavam para não perder nenhum momento desse grande evento. Ainda vale lembrar que entre o público estavam também marcando presença e prestigiando membros de bandas representativas da cena nacional como Bandeira de Combate, Vírus 27, Tropel entre outros.
A abertura ficou por conta de uma banda surpresa, escolhida a dedo foi o Bota Gasta que se mostrou dotado de muita competência e energia, fazendo um set coeso e matador. A cada dia essa turma mostra a força do Oi! Nacional e já é hora de gravar material oficial, vamos Nielsen!
A segunda banda o C.V.O.D. não pude acompanhar, mas de acordo com informações a banda faz um HC no estilo nova geração. Fico por aqui, pois seria injusto falar qualquer coisa sobre eles sendo que não vi o set.

Após uma breve introdução (a mesma de “Oi! Kinnock Give Us Back Our Rose, do Close Shave”) senhor Fitz e sua turma mandam de cara Real Enemy seguida por Blind Justice. Daí por diante foi uma sequencia de clássicos que transitaram por Harry May, Loud Proud & Punk, Smash the Disco, Hardcore Hooligan, Guiness Boys, Out in the Cold, Suburban Rebels entre outras finalizando o set com um bis em Drinking & Driving. Fiquei na expectativa que tocassem outros clássicos como Saturday heroes, Welcome to the Real World, Keep The Faith e até alguma homenagem para os desafetos argentinos Hand ball ou Maradona. Vale lembrar que não estou reclamando, mas acho que algumas músicas a mais caberiam na apresentação.

Para fechar gostaria de agradecer e parabenizar o André (Santa Madre) e ao Renato (Ataque Frontal) por nos dar oportunidade de ver de perto bandas que fizeram parte de nossas vidas.

STARS AND STRIPES - Shaved For Battle (Patriot Records, 1989)

A cena americana tem suas peculiaridades como qualquer outra, uma das que mais se destacam, ou destacavam, é a proximidade com a cena hardcore. O Stars and Stripes banda oriunda de Boston não foi exceção. Em sua formação existiam componentes da banda Slapshot, liderados por Jack Kelly ,que nos anos 80 teve pasagens em bandas como Negative FX e Last Rights. A banda infelizmente teve uma curta trajetória discográfica e suas apresentações foram de fato poucas. Somando-se a este lp a banda lançou mais um 7” e posteriormente um outro Lp em 2004. A temática que a banda se concentra varia entre tópicos que vão desde cultura skin, patriotismo até postura pró exercito americano. O selo Patriot records tinha como dono o próprio Jack.

The American scene has peculiarities like any other, one of the most stand out, or highlight, is the proximity to the hardcore scene. The Stars and Stripes band from Boston, was no exception. In line up there were members of the band Slapshot. Leading by Jack Kelly, who had 80 years was a member of bands like Negative FX and Last Rights. The band unfortunately had a short track record and their presentations were indeed few. Adding to this LP the band released a 7 "and then another LP in 2004. The theme that the band focuses ranging from topics ranging from skin culture, patriotism by pro American army. The Patriot Records was Jack Kelly's Oi! Label.

Acredito que este seja um dos Lps mais importantes da música francesa. O West Side Boys é uma banda que perpetuou seu nome na história. Este trabalho é composto por melodias e vocais impecáveis. Alguns atualmente torcem o nariz devido seu retorno e mudança sonora em que a banda sofreu. Estão para lançar um novo ep , vamos esperar para ver o que vem por ai!

I believe this is one of the most important LPs of French music. The West Side Boys are a band that has perpetuated his name in history. This work consists of impeccable vocal and melodies. Some actually turn up their noses because of his return and sound change in the band suffered. They are to release a new ep, we'll wait and see what comes around!

DISCIPLINE

Neste último fim de semana precisamente dia 24.07 aconteceu um grande festival em Antwerp(Bélgica) tendo como Banda principal os britânicos do Cock Sparrer onde também deveria se apresentar o Discipline. Porque deveria, na parte da manhã houve uma explosão na residência de Joost (vocal do Discipline) onde culminou com a morte de sua esposa. Por sorte as duas crianças não estavam no recinto no momento do acidente. Joost esta preso por ser de acordo com a policia local suspeito de ter causado a explosão.

In the last weekend (July, 24) was a great festival in Antwerp (Belgium) with his main band of the British Cock Sparrer which should also present the Discipline. Why should, in the morning there was an explosion at the residence of Joost (Discipline´s singer) which culminated with the death of his wife. Luckily the two kids were not on the premises at the time of the accident. Joost is arrested for being in agreement with the local police suspected of having caused the explosion.
